At 49 and having re-invented himself time and again, Prosenjit is not new to release jitters though he hopes that his well-wishers will bless his movie - " " - as much as him on this birthday today. Not just in terms of critical appreciation, Prosenjit is keenly anticipating that this Puja release of his will also do good business at the box office. "The team of "Autograph" - Mahendra Soni, Shrikant Mohta and Srijit Mukherji - is back with "BS". "These days, I only do a couple of movies and I know the expectations are huge. That's scary at times. Moreover, this is the first time in my career that a movie is releasing on my birthday. While we are gifting a good movie to the audience, we also would want the audience to gift us a hit with this movie." Birthday celebrations, of course, are very simple for the superstar. "For years, I have this tradition of spending time with fans between 8 am and 10 am. Amar barite luchi ar alur dom banano hoe onader jonnyo. People come from the districts. Those who used to come 20 years ago, now send their sons over to my place. With time, the nature of gifts has also changed. Earlier, they'd get fish and vegetables for me. Today, some get paintings. Others gift me jackets! I really feel blessed in their presence," he says. For Parambrata, the common link between him and Prosenjit is their love for cinema. "I was supposed to do "Autograph" with him but then, I had to leave for England. I've come close to Bumbada after working in "BS", which, I maintain, is the best performance in my career. Earlier, I'd say "Kaaler Rakhal" was my best work. Today, I say, it's "BS". On his birthday today, I would want to gift Bumbada "My Life in Art" by Constantin Stanislavski." Abir, who is playing a programme producer in the film, says he has become so pally with Prosenjit now that he often borrows the latter's shirts to wear them! "Yes, that's the kind of chemistry we share now. On his birthday today, I want to give him a DVD of my "Byomkesh Bakshi" movie. He hasn't watched it yet though had congratulated me when he had seen the posters of the film," Abir says
So what does his "BS" co-star Raima want to gift him on his birthday today? "Oh! I've never gifted him anything. My mother has. I think, I'd want to gift him prayers so that this film becomes a huge hit. I know how important movies are for him and there can be no better gift for him than a superhit movie," Raima insists. Says Shrikant Mohta, director, Shree Venkatesh Films, "It's been 14 years since we have been working together with Bumbada. This is the first time that any of his films is releasing on his birthday. Like Raima, I too would say that I want to gift a superhit to him on his birthday. It's also a fact that if "BS" works, it will open new doors to many producers and directors in Tollywood. This will also be another gift from our end to Tollywood."
