Superstar Prasenjit is working with director Srijit Mukherji to shoot for the upcoming Shree Venkatesh Films movie, Mishor Rohoshyo. This popular story from the Kakababu series written by Sunil Gangopadhyay is no stranger to regular readers and lovers of Bengali crime and mystery fiction. Kakababu is a gritty detective, about sixty years of age, who is passionate about solving crimes. He walks with the help of a crutch, but he is not to be underestimated for that – somehow, that only adds an element of respectability and strength to this already enigmatic character. From the Kakababu stories, it is learnt that the feisty Kakababu injured his leg badly in an accident while trying to help a friend. So, Prosenjit Chatterjee, who is playing the role of Kakababu, is fully prepared to slog it out. He is practicing walking with a crutch and even consulting an orthopaedic surgeon to properly portray a person with a disability in his leg. Besides, as per the original story, the shooting is going to take place in Egypt with all its exotica.
So, Prasenjit indeed has a lot of hard work to do, because it is that much more difficult to walk with a crutch on sand! Prasenjit is even working on the muscles of one hand, so that one arm looks realistically stronger than the other. Director Srijit Mukherji too is of similar opinion – this project is going to be one heck of a challenge. 16 days of hardcore shooting under the scorching sun in Egypt, not to mention explosive action sequences, makes for a fascinating prospect of a movie. Egypt, just out of a revolutionary upsurge, is also fresh in the cognitive calendar of the Indian audience; so a movie shot in Mishor at this time is going to augur well commercially, feels the think tank.
